Vopatová, Eliška ; Svobodová, Silvie (advisor) ; Teodoridis, Vasilis (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with the creation and use of educational online escape games in the teaching of biology at the lower secondary school. As part of this thesis, an original online escape game dedicated to the curriculum about carnivoras called Escape from the carnivoras pavilion was created. Based on the theoretical presentation of the activation methods of teaching, the escape game is defined as a unique teaching method. Creation of this game is based on the principles of escape rooms as well as the specifics of educational escape games. Accompanying materials were also created in order to use the Escape from the carnivoras pavilion escape game as a comprehensive learning tool. These materials were a worksheet and a questionnaire for self-assessment of pupils. Together with the game, these were included in the teaching block in two seventh grades of lower secondary school. Its implementation provided space for an overall evaluation of the escape game based on the observation of the pupils' activity and their feedback. Testing the created online escape game in my own teaching proved its functionality from a technical point of view and didactic potential despite minor flaws in the game structure. Subsequent research among 110 teachers outlined the possibilities of further use of the designed...

Geography and natural history curriculums integration for secondary schools - example of the living nature of America
Sovičková, Michaela ; Mourek, Jan (advisor) ; Blažová, Kateřina (referee)
Classical frontal teaching, where pupils are supposed to listen to the teacher and make notes is becoming stereotypical. Therefore I decided to focus on a topic where I can apply more teaching methods both in Geography lessons and Biology ones. The goal of this work was to create a teaching guide including necessary materials covering the topic of American natural lanscapes and afterwards to evaluate the contribution of these activities. The teaching materials were tested in two classes in The Basic School in Dolní Břežany. Both classes underwent a pretest, the first posttest (immediately after the experimental lessons), the second posttest (six weeks after the experimental lessons) and pupils also tried activities in which they had to apply their achieved knowledge. The data were evaluated using statistical analyses where the results showed a progress of gained knowledge between the pretest and the first posttest, whereas their knowledge did not significantly differ between the first and second posttest. It can be concluded that pupils broadened their knowledge, which was deeper than at the beginning and the pupils were able to retain this knowledge for a longer time. Key words: North America, South America, natural lanscapes, Biology, Geography, activating teaching methods, curriculum integration

Teaching methods for hand hygiene
Hájková, Iveta ; Kordulová, Pavla (advisor) ; Kulířová, Veronika (referee)
Introduction to the issue and the importance of the topic: The subject of this diploma thesis is to focus on issues related to teaching methods for the practice of hand hygiene in health care professionals in medical facilities. The issue of increasing efficiency in education is today an increasingly relevant topic supporting the activity of every person. In medical facilities, we encounter a problem with employee motivation, mutual interaction and communication when practicing new nursing procedures (hand hygiene), (Cullen, 2017). Unfortunately, most lecturers still teach only traditional teaching methods and use activating methods minimally or not at all (Sitná et al., 2009). Such a stereotype in the teaching process often provides only mechanical reproduction of the learned content. There is no consideration of understanding and practical interconnection, which is often boring and cumbersome for employees (Duran et al., 2017). The lecturer should pass on theoretical knowledge and practical skills to the given employees and thus develop their attitudes necessary for the performance of their profession (Vengl, 2011). Although much attention is paid to education in the literature, the methods used are often briefly characterized and listed by the authors. The primary focus of this work is on...

Nováková, Marie ; Selčanová, Zuzana (advisor) ; Jiřičková, Jiřina (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with activating teaching methods and their application into a teaching process in music education. The theoretical part deals with specific methods; e.g. comics, pantomime, reflection, visualization of listening activities, live pictures, or didactic games. The choice of selected methods depends on the particular class sample in which the methods of music education were used. Besides that, it reflects the range of the thesis itself. The practical part focuses on the implementation of activating methods in the educational process. The research was realized at the first stage of elementary education, the classes and activating methods were chosen to cover all the grades. The age of middle childhood has typical features which are essential for the development of musical skill and abilities. The range of the first stage of elementary schools is beneficial for the full implementation of the methods into music lessons. The end of the thesis brings some examples of materials showing how to work with these methods in the music education process. The working sheets are meant for students of music education and other courses as a source of inspiration helping with cross-curricular cooperation.
